Neck Liposuction Cost

Excess accumulation of fat deposits in the neck area is a common problem for both men and women. One of the challenges with stubborn fat pockets in this area is that it can be difficult to reduce this fat with exercise or diet. In such a situation, neck liposuction cosmetic surgery may be recommended to regain a slimmer, firmer, youthful looking neck.

During the initial consultation process, the plastic surgeon will discuss all aspects of the neck liposuction procedure, including its estimated costs. The first goal of the surgeon will be to ensure that the patient makes an informed choice about the procedure. Dr. Eric Yavrouian is an experienced facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon providing neck liposuction to patients in Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and surrounding communities.

Geographical Location

The price tag for neck liposuction will usually differ between two places due to a number of factors. Geographical location of the practice is one of the key factors. The living cost index will vary from one city to another, which will impact the average monetary amount of most types of commodities and services, including plastic surgery services.

Extent of Surgery

When the surgeon prepares a detailed surgical plan for neck liposuction, they will consult the patient closely and accommodate the patient’s unique aesthetic goals in the plan. This will determine the extent of cosmetic surgery to be performed, the amount of fat required to be removed from the neck region, and whether neck, chin and cheek liposuction may be performed in conjunction.

If the patient needs only a minor surgery with minimal neck fat reduction as a maintenance procedure, the dollar amount will be relatively lower, as compared to a situation where significant amount of fat must be removed from multiple areas. In a few cases, the surgeon may decide to redistribute the liposuctioned fat from the neck to certain depleted areas to produce more uniform contours.

The effect on your bank account in regards to this procedure may go up in such cases, where the procedure is more complex, involves more time, and requires the use of complex techniques and technology. When neck liposuction is performed in combination with other procedures such as a facelift, the overall procedure will become more cost-effective. Leading facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Yavrouian receives patients from Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and nearby areas for neck liposuction.

Liposuction Technique

If the neck liposuction procedure is performed using the traditional surgical technique, it may require general anesthesia. This will push up the overall cost of surgery. On the other hand, if tumescent liposuction technique is used, it will only require local anesthesia, which will have a lower cost. Laser or ultrasound assisted liposuction techniques can make the procedure relatively less invasive, but may add to the costs marginally.

Insurance and Financing

Neck liposuction is usually performed for aesthetic reasons. Therefore, health insurance coverage is not likely to be available. In exceptional cases, it may be performed as a medical necessity, which may be covered fully or partially under insurance. Patients can seek affordable financing through professional medical care finance firms to make the payment in convenient monthly installments.

How to Minimize Bruising from Rhinoplasty Surgery?
How to Minimize Bruising from Rhinoplasty Surgery?

Rhinoplasty is a major procedure in facial cosmetic surgery, which is designed to improve the shape or size of the nose in harmony with other facial features. Many patients who seek rhinoplasty are naturally concerned about the extent of bruising and swelling that may occur following the procedure, and how long it may last.

The rhinoplasty surgeon will address the patient’s concerns during the initial consultation process, and help them make an informed decision. One of the key goals of an experienced facial plastic surgeon will be to minimize the possibility of bruising and swelling by adopting advanced surgical techniques and using the best skills to perform the surgery.

Only minimal bruising may occur with such a surgeon in most cases, and even in other cases, the downtime may not exceed one week until the nasal cast is removed. Dr. Eric Yavrouian is a leading facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon providing rhinoplasty to patients in Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and surrounding communities.

Surgeon’s Expertise

The extent of bruising in case of rhinoplasty will primarily be determined by how the surgeon performs the procedure. Therefore, the surgeon’s expertise and focused training in facial cosmetic surgery procedures will make a key difference. In many rhinoplasty procedures, the surgeon will be required make minor cuts in the nasal bones to improve the size or shape of the nose.

During this process, the periosteum which covers the lower and upper nasal bone surface may be cut or shredded. The periosteum is a critical blood supply source to the nasal bone, and if it suffers cuts, bleeding may take place in the skin beneath the eyes and cheeks. This can cause extra bruising and swelling. An expert surgeon will pay maximum attention to cut the nasal bones carefully in order to minimize the periosteum trauma.

Leading facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Yavrouian receives patients from Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and nearby locations for rhinoplasty and other procedures.

Patient-related Factors

The amount of bruising that may occur in a rhinoplasty procedure will also depend on certain patient-specific factors.

Age

Bruising in any plastic surgery procedure will tend to be higher for older patients. As a person ages, the blood vessels typically become more fragile.

Tendency to Bleed

If the patient has a personal or family history of excessive bruising or bleeding during a surgery, they should let the surgeon know about it at the outset. The surgeon will modify the treatment plan in accordance with this information.

Medications Usage

If the patient has been using blood thinning medications, it can become an important factor in the bleeding and bruising risk during surgery. The surgeon must coordinate with the primary care physician in such cases.

Care during Recovery

The patient will have to avoid the use of aspirin, ibuprofen and various anti-inflammatory drugs for several weeks before and after the rhinoplasty procedure. Use of fish oils, multi vitamins, and Vitamin E enriched products should also be restricted. Ice packs should be applied in the cheek area as instructed by the surgeon.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Using Fillers
Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Using Fillers

Rhinoplasty or nose reshaping surgery ranks among the top five popular cosmetic surgery procedures in the US today. Even a slight improvement in the size or shape of the nose can have a magnified impact on the overall facial appearance of an individual. However, some of the patients may be reluctant to choose surgery for aesthetic enhancement.

In such cases, the surgeon may recommend non-surgical rhinoplasty with FDA approved dermal fillers. These fillers are injectable treatments to enhance facial aesthetics, and are widely popular today. Dr. Eric Yavrouian is a leading facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon providing both surgical and non-surgical treatment options in rhinoplasty. Dr. Yavrouian receives patients from Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and surrounding communities.

Benefits

A filler based rhinoplasty procedure will avoid all the risks and complications that are typically associated with a cosmetic surgery procedure. The procedure will be performed on an outpatient basis, and will involve minimal pain and discomfort.

Downtime in case of rhinoplasty with dermal fillers is very little, which makes it ideal for working people and busy moms. Results with a single treatment can last for as much as one year, and the treatment can be repeated in the future for extended benefits.

Candidacy

Women and men who are seeking improvements to the nose appearance, but do not wish to undergo rhinoplasty surgery may be the right candidates for a non-surgical rhinoplasty using facial fillers. The surgeon will usually recommend this treatment to patients with relatively less prominent nose anomalies.

Patients interested in removing a bump or hump on the nose bridge, enhance the nasal tip or augment the overall nose appearance may make good candidates for filler rhinoplasty. Eminent facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Yavrouian provides this procedure to patients in Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and nearby areas.

Procedure

The surgeon will prepare an appropriate injection plan to address the specific aesthetic goals of the patient with regard to the nose. The patient will receive a local anesthetic injection or a topical numbing gel will be applied prior to the procedure to ensure that they remain fully comfortable during the treatment process.

Injections in precise quantities of dermal fillers will be administered in the targeted areas. The entire injectable procedure may last only for about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the extent of treatment needed. The choice of dermal fillers will be made in advance in consultation with the patient.

Hyaluronic acid based biocompatible dermal fillers such as Restylane, Perlane, and Juvederm may be used for filler rhinoplasty. In a few cases, more advanced fillers such as Radiesse or Sculptra Aesthetic may be recommended. Two or more fillers may be used in combination in some cases to achieve more comprehensive results.

Recovery and Results

Mild redness and swelling will occur in the treated area, which will fade on its own in about one week. Some patients can experience tenderness in the nose for about three to five days. Results may be sustainable for about 6 to 12 months, depending on the choice of fillers.

Neck Liposuction

Excess fat in the neck area is commonly known as double chin. This is a common problem among both women and men, and can be corrected with neck liposuction cosmetic surgery. Extra fat in the neck may occur due to genetic factors, progressive weight gain, disease, or other reasons.

Dr. Eric J. Yavrouian is a fellowship trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a board certified otolaryngologist providing neck liposuction and various other procedures of the breast, body and face. Dr. Yavrouian receives patients from Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and surrounding communities.

Candidacy

Neck liposuction cosmetic surgery is ideally suited for adults who are bothered by the appearance of excess fat tissue in the area immediately below the chin. A stellar candidate will have a reasonable amount of skin elasticity in the neck so that the liposuction does not lead to skin irregularities.

If the skin laxity is high, the surgeon may recommend neck liposuction in conjunction with facelift surgery. If the jaw line is poorly defined, it can also be corrected with neck liposuction along the jaw line and jowls.

Procedure

As a leading facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Yavrouian is an ideal surgeon to perform neck liposuction for patients in Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and nearby areas. Dr. Yavrouian will usually perform this procedure on an outpatient basis. It may take about one to two hours to complete the surgery, which involves local anesthesia and IV sedation.

The surgeon will generally adopt tumescent liposuction technique to perform the surgery. This is a relatively less invasive technique, which avoids general anesthesia, and entails minimal risk and downtime. In this technique, the surgeon will inject the targeted area of the neck with tumescent fluid, which is a combination of saline solution, local anesthetic, and epinephrine, which supports the constriction of blood vessels and minimizes bruising and bleeding.

The tumescent fluid will make the unwanted fat cells swollen and firm, and allow the surgeon to isolate them and remove them easily in a less invasive way. These fats will be suctioned out through a thin micro cannula with a suction pump attached to the other end. A controlled amount of fat will be removed gently in order to restore the slimmer and more natural looking neck contours.

Average Stipulated Cost

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average price figure of liposuction surgery in the US in 2014 was $2,971. However, this cost did not cover key cost components such as sedation anesthesia, operating room fees, and related expenses. The overall dollar amount of neck liposuction may range from $4,000 to $7,000, depending on several factors.

Recovery

The patient will have to wear a compression garment around the neck and jaw line area for the first week, and at night time for the next few weeks. Most patients will be in a position to resume their normal activities after a week. This means they can get on with their life and enjoy their new fantastic look while being productive.

Facial Liposuction Plastic Surgery

Facial liposuction cosmetic surgery procedure is designed to remove excess fat tissue from targeted areas of the face, neck, chin and jowls. Some patients may have fairly good skin elasticity in the face but suffer from poorly defined facial contours due to excess fat deposits. For such patients, facial liposuction can prove to be more beneficial than facelift or other invasive surgeries.

Dr. Eric J. Yavrouian is a fellowship trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a board certified otolaryngologist, providing facial liposuction and various other procedures of the breast, body, and face. Dr. Yavrouian receives patients from Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and surrounding communities.

Good Candidates

Facial liposuction cosmetic surgery may be ideally suited for women and men who are bothered by the appearance of excess fat pockets in the face, which may cause a double chin or poorly defined facial contours. A good candidate will typically have fairly elastic facial skin so that the results of liposuction are more attractive and natural looking.

Both younger and older people may choose facial liposuction. But in case of older people, the procedure is often combined with facelift surgery, brow lift, eyelid lift or non-invasive skin tightening procedures to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. As an experienced facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Yavrouian recommends this procedure to the right candidates in Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and nearby areas.

Procedure

In many cases, facial liposuction is performed with the tumescent technique involving the use of a micro cannula. This technique is relatively less invasive and can be performed only using local anesthesia. Scarring is minimal and downtime is reduced as compared to other liposuction techniques. Tumescent liposuction for the face is usually performed on or underneath the chin and jaw line. This enables the surgeon to reduce the appearance of drooping skin in the neck, hanging jowls and a double chin.

In some cases, tumescent liposuction may be combined with non-surgical procedures such as chemical peels or laser resurfacing. This will reduce the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles, while restoring a smoother, younger looking face. Non-surgical alternatives will avoid the need for facelift surgery. The extent of fat reduction will vary from one patient to another, depending on their facial anatomy and personal aesthetic goals.

Results

Results with facial liposuction cosmetic surgery can be fairly dramatic. The use of smaller cannula to dislodge the fat cells allows for the fibrous connections between your body and skin to remain. Contraction will occur in these connections over time. Therefore, excessive folds in the neck area are very rare with this procedure. Many patients will not require the surgical removal of excess skin following facial liposuction.

Recovery

Recovery with facial tumescent liposuction is fairly quick and smooth. The small incisions will be closed with just one or two stitches. A compression garment may have to be worn in the treated area for a few days. Most patients will be able to go back to their regular activities within three to five days.

Liposuction Plastic Surgery vs. Laser Lipo

Both Liposuction plastic surgery and Laser Lipo are surgical fat removal procedures. These are adopted when exercise and diet are unable to break down certain fatty areas in the body.

Liposuction Plastic Surgery

Liposuction plastic surgery is an invasive surgical technique that is designed to remove localized areas of excessive fat in the body. The fat in the localized area is broken down by applying high pressure vacuum via a hollow instrument called Cannula. This is placed under the skin and once fat is broken down it sucks it off from the body.

Laser Liposuction

Laser Lipo is a development in the liposuction technology which treats excessive fat areas using laser energy. There are 3 steps involved in Laser Lipo with two variations on the procedure. The laser energy is used for breaking fat cell walls letting the oils into the body. The heat also allows for tiny blood vessels to coagulate which is highly important for prevention of bruises after the procedure is done. The second step is in using the laser superficially on the skin in order to trigger the production of collagen that helps in augmenting skin health, post treatment. The final step involves removal of the fat and other cell fragments and shaping the desired contour.

The variation in techniques only exists in the final step where instead of removing the fat the body is allowed to absorb it. Plastic Surgeon, Dr Eric Yavrouian, suggests the latter for thin fat removal surgeries such as face and neck.

Effects

Traditional Liposuction plastic surgery comes with possible post treatment effects including scarring, infection, and numbness, and lumps or dents appearing on the skin. In case the patient adopts an unhealthy lifestyle after wards, there are chances of remaining fat cells growing bigger.

Laser Liposuction has the inherent risk of burning the skin, since it uses heat as the medium of surgery. It also bears the risk of causing bruises, bleeding, perforation, and infection. In case of the fat removal variation, since it has to use traditional liposuction it comes with those risks in addition. The advantages are that skin problems such as dimpling, scarring, and cellulite can be improved by Laser Liposuction. Older patients might not have skin that conducive that is conducive to traditional liposuction alone, due to it being low on elastin and collagen.

Liposuction Plastic Surgery – Types, Cost, Recovery, and Risks

For over three decades, liposuction has been one of the most sought-after cosmetic surgery procedures designed to achieve more aesthetically appealing body contours. Liposuction has helped millions of women and men to enhance their figures through targeted removal of unwanted fat pockets.

Liposuction may be performed as a standalone surgery or in conjunction with other procedures such as tummy tuck, breast augmentation or mommy makeover. Types of Liposuction Surgery

Liposuction cosmetic surgery may be performed using one of the following techniques:

Traditional Liposuction

This type of liposuction surgery may be performed when a large amount of fat removal is involved in one or more areas. The procedure involves manual manipulation of the stubborn fat cells with a cannula inserted through an incision, and removal of the dislodged fats with a suction pump.

Tumescent Liposuction

This is a highly popular liposuction technique, which involves only local anesthesia. The surgeon will inject a liberal volume of a solution including a local anesthetic and salts to cause the fat cells to swell. This makes it easier to isolate and remove them. The procedure involves relatively lesser downtime.

Ultrasonic Liposuction

In this type of liposuction, ultrasound technology is used to generate heat in the targeted fat cells and liquefy them. This makes it easier to remove larger and denser fat tissue in a relatively less invasive manner.

Laser Liposuction

Several advanced laser assisted liposuction surgery techniques are used today to achieve more precise and effective results. Laser based liposuction will involve minimal bruising and bleeding, reduce the downtime, and minimize the risk of scarring. Targeted results with laser liposuction can be achieved in more sensitive areas such as the cheeks, chin, jowls, neck, and arms.

Abdominal Etching

This is a unique type of liposuction aimed at enhancing the appearance of the abdominal muscles, and create the highly sought after ‘six pack’ abs. The muscles will first be outlined and then a thin layer of fat will be used to obscure the muscles. Traditional, ultrasonic or laser based liposuction may then be used to perform this procedure.

The Price Tag on Liposuction

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average fundamental cost of liposuction in 2014 in the US was $2,971. However, this figure did not include the inclusion of anesthesia, surgical facility costs, and other expenses that are germane to this procedure.

The overall dollar amount of the procedure may range from $4,000 to $8,000, depending on a number of factors. Patients in Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and nearby areas have an opportunity to receive this procedure from facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Yavrouian.

Botox injection - Woman in cosmetic medicine treatmentBotox and Dysport are two highly popular facial anti-aging injectables that are based on botulinum toxin. The treatments may be recommended for suitable candidates who seek reduction of wrinkles and lines on the face, but are not ready for facial cosmetic surgery.

While both Botox and Dysport operate on the same treatment principle of muscle immobilization through injectable administering of botulinum neurotoxin, but these treatments are also distinct from each other in some ways. Dr. Eric Yavrouian is an experienced facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon providing anti-aging injectables and other solutions to patients in Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and surrounding communities.

Brand Recognition

Out of the two, Botox is a much more recognized and popular brand in the US. Botox is manufactured by Allergan, Inc., which is a leading company in the US for a number of aesthetic products and devices, and has been around for a few decades. Ever since Botox was approved by the FDA in 2002, it has continued to dominate globally as the number one anti-aging facial injectable and serving as a non-surgical alternative to facelift cosmetic surgery.

Botox was originally approved for the treatment of frown lines on the forehead and between the brows. In 2013, the FDA gave an additional approval to Botox for the cosmetic reduction of crow’s feet around the eyes. The safety and efficacy profile of Botox is very high, and it is the treatment of choice for millions of Americans every year.

Dysport emerged as a competitor to Botox in 2009, when it received the FDA approval for the same cosmetic purposes as Botox. Dysport is relatively new in the US, but it has been widely popular across Europe for many years. Dysport is sold by Medicis, another leading cosmetic medical products company that also produces Restylane dermal filler injectables.

Leading facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Yavrouian provides Botox and Dysport treatments to patients in Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Greater Los Angeles CA, and nearby areas.

Key Differences

One of the key differences between the two anti-aging injectables is that Dysport has a relatively smaller sized molecule as compared to Botox. Therefore, the unit measurement of Dysport is different from that of Botox. The cost of Dysport may be slightly lower in some offices, but it will ultimately depend on the office how they decide to price the treatment.

While both Botox and Dysport reveal similar efficacy and similar risks in research studies, but some physicians believe there are a few important differences between the two. It is estimated that the results with both Botox and Dysport can last between three to six months, but some physicians suggest that Dysport’s longevity may be slightly lower than that of Botox.

On the upside, Dysport’s results are established relatively faster (within two to five days), whereas the results with Botox will typically show in about four to seven days. The diffusion of Dysport is wider, which means it spreads to a wider area. This may be an advantage in certain areas of the face, and a disadvantage in others.
